Floor Time
/flôr tīm/
noun
the 15-60 minute time period spent laying on the floor in the middle of the work day, typically as a relief from the soul-sucking reality of corporate America.
Hello friends! I wanted to take a moment this Floor Time Friday (Floorday? FTF?) to acknowledge all the new Floor Timers who have joined us in recent weeks. Welcome, eggs! Hopefully, you’re here for the right reasons: to escape corporate life and waste your time in the most productive way possible. And if you’re here for the wrong reasons, that’s cool too. If you hate what you see I hope to receive a scathing letter from you soon (send snail mail, you cowards!). I digress. It’s Aries season and I’ve been feeling particularly fiery this week.
Anywho. By now the OG Floor Timers have read roughly 50 rambling newsletters crafted by moi, but many of you newbies have not. So I give you, the very first Floor Time rewind. These are some personal and crowd favorites. Take what you need this Friday:
Sundays (shouldn’t be) scaries. My advice for how to maximize your Sundays and avoid the scaries. Includes ideas for activities you and your pals can do to make Sunday your new favorite day.
Something unpredictable. This one is all about vision-questing—if you’re looking for some change in your life, or just wanting to reflect on the change that’s already happened, this is for you. Also includes my Mexico City trip recap and recommendations :)
Fangirl spring. Why being a fangirl has always been a defining quality of my personality, and why I think it’s the best thing you can be.
Happy days are beer again. Literally me pairing beer flavor profiles with their celebrity counterparts. It’s unhinged, it’s camp, s’wonderful.
Take your lunch break. How the Europeans taught me to take an actual lunch break, not at my desk. And also a meal recap / restaurant recommendations for Sardinia.
TBT to when I almost returned my dog. This is all about the puppy blues. Also, many insanely cute photos of Klaus.
10 things I love about NYC. The title says it all.
Now seeking soulmates. One of a three-part series on relationships. To this day, this is the Floor Time I received the most responses on. Clearly we all just want to forge meaningful connections with one another.
The art of the mentor. I interviewed my own mentor on what it means to be a mentor, how to become one, and how to find one.

Something Pretty
I’ve been loving the work of abstract artist, Michelle Armas. Something about these shapes just scratches my brain in all the right places.
Something To Laugh About
^me every week re-reading the Floor Time I just wrote.
Enjoy these gems:
If you don’t watch a single other TikTok this week, watch this one. I haven’t laughed this hard in so long. And it’s so silly!!!
And this is why the internet.
Just vital due diligence for you. I’m not a Descendants gworlie but I will absolutely be tuning in for this. This is the only Cinderella / Prince Charming combo I will ever acknowledge! No further questions!!
Happy Aries season, people. In typical Aries fashion (or so I’m told), I am anti-astrology. That said, if the “season” is an excuse to get a little feisty, I’m ready to fight!!
Til’ next time, star signs. Your friend,
Clarice
By the way…I’m reading this.
So I think I’m finally going to cave and launch into Throne of Glass. Pray for me.
