Floor Time
/flôr tīm/
noun
the 15-60 minute time period spent laying on the floor in the middle of the work day, typically as a relief from the soul-sucking reality of corporate America.
Hiii, it’s-a-me! I know it’s weird to hear from me on a Tuesday—usually, I am on ice on non-Friday weekdays, until I defrost and pop into your inbox at the end of each week. But this Tuesday is very, very, special because it is the ONE! YEAR! ANNIVERSARY! of Floor Time!!! Holy motherforking shirtballs, ya’ll.
I am so thrilled that my words and the concept of a midday lie-on-the-floor have resonated with you. I had the idea for this newsletter on a particularly manic Tuesday in 2022, and by that Friday the first blast was out. For once, I didn’t overthink and just did it. And I got no ~regerts~ bout that. Writing this distracting newsletter is reliably the thing I do for ME. The cherry on top is that somehow, it has also become for YOU. So please know, I am eternally grateful and I love that you’re here. Thank you.
All that said, I would love to take this opportunity to ask why you’re here, what you like about being here, and what you’d like to see more of in year two of Floor Time. Yes, you know what’s coming, a survey! I promise you this will take literally five minutes and as a token of my thanks, I’m including two digital downloads. One is a cutesy little Valentine you can share with the people you love most. The other is a cursed Valentine that I invite you to send to every person who has ever wronged you. Stay toxic, my friends.
Thank you again for being here and I can’t wait to hear from you. I hope that this newsletter continues to do what it was designed to do—distract you from the exhausting reality that is corporate America and serve as the one email in your inbox that doesn’t require a response that begins with, “per my last email, CAROL.”
Going back on ice now. Happy love day and see you Friday, eggs!
